Mobile Loaves & Fishes was honored by the Foundation in 2015 for its Community First! Village, a master-planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness. Of their award, Mobile Loaves & Fishes Founder and Chief Executive Officer Alan Graham comments:

In 2015, the year we were honored, we were just getting started out at the Community First! Village. As of 2020 we have over 250 neighbors living in the village and have opened phase 2 which will add an additional 310 homes and up to an additional 350 neighbors and we have secured an additional 126 acres that will add an incredible 1400 homes to our inventory here in Austin to help our friends who live on the streets. The architecture community has been strategic in creating this built environment that has virtually everyone who tours this place coming away saying, “I want to live here.”  Additionally, and as a result of our collaboration, we have had over 400 people from 150 cities and 31 states participate in a three-day symposium to learn how to replicate this in their respective communities and many of those replications are underway. You have been strategic in helping us create all of this goodness!
